Your cone filter is breathing engine bay air. This fixes that.
On some cars, an open cone filter sits in the hot engine bay, drawing in air that has already been warmed by the radiator, the exhaust manifold and the block itself. Hot air is less dense, and less dense air means less power. A flat heat shield helps a little. A sealed airbox solves it properly.
The GSR Air Filter Heat Shield Guard is a fully enclosed airbox that wraps your cone filter completely, isolating it from under-bonnet heat and feeding it air from outside the engine bay. Same principle as some known competitor products, at a fraction of the price.

- Twin NBR O-ring sealing: a 164mm face seal at the rim and a 70mm seal on the filter neck;

- Designed to be mounted straight onto all of our intake kits — no vehicle-specific brackets, no drilling;
- Can be used with any other intake solutions, that use a 75 mm (3") air filter connection.
- Three gusseted zip-tie ears at 120° for secure mounting in almost any engine bay;

FITMENT:
Built specifically around our own GSR cone filters mounted on a 75mm intake tube. Because it is designed around our filter rather than adapted to a generic size, the seal is exact.
External dimensions: 170mm across the barrel, 215mm across the mounting ears, 201mm tall.
The air filter is not included as standard — the Heat Guard is supplied as the airbox only. If you do not already have a GSR filter, select the "With GSR air filter" option above and we will supply the matched filter with it.
